In April 2010, Feltmate Delibato Heagle’s very own Brian Heagle was named Burlington’s 2009 Citizen of the Year. The award recognizes devoted and energetic service by an individual who makes an exemplary contribution to the community.
Heagle’s dedication to the community is evident across a number of charities within Burlington including the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton, Burlington Community Foundation, the Halton Multicultural Council, Performing Arts Burlington and the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation.
From an arts perspective, Heagle made a significant contribution to the creation of Performing Arts Burlington as both a founder and continuing board member. Brian has been volunteering for the community of Burlington for more than 20 years.
“Brian Heagle has his finger on the pulse of our community and is described as a leader by example,” said Mayor Cam Jackson. “Brian brings individuals and groups together to work for the common good. He is a great example of how to give back to the community to create a better Burlington.”
Heagle says as a lawyer, he sees himself as a public servant and volunteering is a natural fit with that role.
"I'm naturally drawn to various causes and interested in the community. When I feel that I can make a difference, I pursue it and I really love working with people."
