Henry Krupa returned to the private practice following a distinguished career in government as Director of Legal Services for the Ontario Ministries of Environment and Energy. As the province’s most senior legal advisor on environment and energy matters, Henry played a leading role in every major environmental and energy issue in the province, in developing virtually every provincial policy and law that will govern these sectors for years to come, and in the province’s compliance, enforcement and prosecutorial activities. He has a unique knowledge of and maintains extensive contacts in the Ontario and federal governments to help FDH clients resolve legal issues speedily and effectively, with as little disruption to their business as possible.
Henry has significant experience advising politicians and senior government officials, and business owners and senior executives on all manner of issues that have environmental or energy concerns. His clients include municipalities, conservation authorities and First Nations, builders, real estate and land developers, receivers/trustees-in-bankruptcy and businesses in a variety of sectors including aggregates, agriculture, petrochemical, smelters and transportation, emerging and renewable energy technologies, local utilities and waste management.
To complement his substantial experience, Henry attained a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) with honours in Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Law and Policy and has written at length on these topics and has taught at law schools in Canada, United States and the United Kingdom.
